The Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program (TRDRP) funds research aimed at reducing tobacco use, tackling tobacco-related diseases, and shaping public health policy in California — all backed by tobacco excise tax revenue.
New Grant Awarded
We’ve received a new R01 award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, “Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in substance use disorder and HIV," to support a collaborative project led by Dr. Christine Cheng and Dr. de Guglielmo.

Grants Awarded
We are happy to announce that Dr. de Guglielmo and Dr. Kallupi have been awarded a U01 and an R21 grant from National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIH), respectively, for their projects on the genetic and neurobiological mechanisms underlying opioid dependence and addiction severity.
